Alchemy of Goals
Before you read any further, I will warn you there may be spoilers below. Read with caution.
That’s a WRAP! Alchemy of Souls part I has come to an end and boy do I feel shooketh. Let us start at the beginning, Alchemy of Souls is a fantasy drama ( written by the famous Hong sisters, previous work includes: Hotel De Luna and Master’s Sun) that welcomes us into a land of sorcery, energy cultivating and hot oppas. Like, steaming hot.
The story takes us to Daeho, a country where some are able to control and manipulate the elements, mages. These mages face challenges due to the a forbidden spell called “The Alchemy of Souls”. Its a type of necromancy if you will, playing with the souls and lives of the living and dead.
Naksu, our heroine (and badass warrior woman) is an assassin who gets soul swapped into a seemly meek body of Mudeok. Mudeok is the maid of infamous mage Jang Uk. Okay, so Jang Uk is a bit of a taboo, he is the “heir” of a affluent mage household but there is one small problem. He cannot do ANY spells.
So, he sets off on a journey with Naksu (under the guise of Mudeok) to unleash his beast so to speak.
I have to stay tuned for part II, to find out how this ends…. Let me know your thoughts on this k-drama!
