Fried Oyster Mushrooms? Or is it Chicken? Hmmmm

This is a super easy dinner idea made for a super easy k-drama viewing. Toss them, batter them. Toss em in some Omsom ( the yuzu miso flavor might be my favorite) and hit it back in the air fryer … great meal to start your first k-drama with. May I suggest you start with “Itaewon Class”. This series is known for having a more diverse crew and takes place in Itaewon, an area in Seoul thats known for its generally open atmosphere! It was hot! An instant hit when it came out, like these oyster mushrooms!

Ingredients

1 container of oyster mushrooms

1 cup of tapioca starch

1 cup of cornstarch and or arrow root powder

1 tbsp of onion powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

1 packet of Omsom Yuzu Miso Glaze Starter

Buttermilk Substitute

1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar

1 cup of milk OR milk substitute

How To Do It

Separate the oyster mushrooms and pat them clean with a damp cloth.

Soak them in your buttermilk concoction for 25 minutes.

Pour out your tapioca starch in one bowl, the remaining dry ingredients in another. After the oysters have soaked dunk + dredge in this order: the tapioca, back in the buttermilk, the remaining dry seasoning mixture. Do this until all pieces of mushroom are dredged.

Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees. Spray pan with oil and put on the mushroom. Air fry for 12-6 minutes, flipping them halfway.

Take mushrooms out and mix with have a packet of Omsom or all depending on your preference.

Hit it back in the air fryer for 2-5 minutes and then serve with sides of choice ( I had it with cucumber and rice, a bit of crunch and fluffy soft rice)! I hope you enjoy this one it was so freaking delicious!

My recommended drama of choice with this meal in “Itaewon Class” starring Park Seo-Joon, Kim Da-Mi and Ahn Bo-Hyun. Why? Tune into my ig account to find out why!!!!
