Strawberries n Cream Churros
Here is a simple way to use of all the rice wrappers in your cabinet, I know you have some hehe. I was inspired by that one scene in Yumi’s Cells Season 1 where Yumi was not able to wait in line for her yummy churros. I thought maybe she might really enjoy this take!
Ingredients
You will need a jar of strawberry preserves (I made some with extra strawberries I had)
Labneh OR cream cheese
Air Dried Strawberries
Sugar/cinnamon
Rice Wrappers
Butter
First, in a food processor blend sugar, strawberries and cinnamon and pour into a plate or dish and set aside for later
Dampen rice paper in cold to lukewarm water, this will give you more time to maneuver with it.
Cut the rice paper in half with a knife/scissors while still a little from after dampening
Smear a dollop of labneh right in the middle away from the edges, then do the same with strawberry preserve
Fold the edges inward and then roll the rice paper folding one end to the other liken the video. Each piece is one mini “churro” make as many as you’d like! I find the sweet spot is 6-7 (share with a friend)
Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a pan and add rolled rice wrappers in it. Let them crisp up fro about 2-3 minutes and flip them over ONCE. let that side cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Take them out and dust in your sugar medley and enjoy!
